So to solve the problem, took me a google or two to find the answer but yes it is possible to sync multiple calendars onto the iPhone. On the phone load up safari and go to:

http://m.google.com/sync

This will give a mobile page providing a number of links (I’ll try and post some screenshots later on). It also allows you to sign into your google account. Sign in and the page that it provides shows all the calendars that you have and its possible to check the ones that you want to sync with. I’m not sure whether I missed this on the google page but I did not see information about this.

Well there is an app to the rescue iFlashReady is an app that takes the image and converts it to look as if the flash was on. It’s a simple app that takes the image and changes the brightness/contrast of the image. Nice and simple but good results. Here’s the image i took the other night that was not great, but using the app it looks much better.

Well after weeks of not being able to decide I’ve finally got myself an iPhone. In fact I’m using the word press iPhone app to write this post. So far all looks great, it’s a 3gs so has all the cool new features. Voice control appears to work ok but I’ve had it almost call the aa road watch by accident!!!! When I was trying to just play a song, to be fair to it though it was in a noise environment. The camera has provides some interesting results!!!!!! See the two images below. One at dusk and the other when the sun was still shining. You can never beat a good point and click camera but it does seem a shame the apple could not have add a flash to it.

One last thing before the pictures(downside about the word press app it does not allow embedded images). I’ve given the phone a good amount of use both on wifi and on 3g plus listening to music, and so far fingers cross I’ve not seen the overheating problems people have reported.

After months of rumours the new iPhone has arrived. Looking very similar to the old 3G iphone and only gets an S on the end. That is suppose to stand for “Speed” (come on apple usually you are great with names…). There is a raft of new features that have been around the internet for ages so I’m not going to repeat.

O2

I’ve been looking at the iPhone for a while and thought I might as well wait for the upgrade since it was only round the corner. Now its here can I really pay as much as they are asking for it. Being in UK its O2 that supply it and I’ve been with O2 for about 8 / 9 years now because I had a really good deal that I just paid my bills at the end of the month. But the downside with this deal is I’ve been left behind with all the picture messaging and everything, my phone supports them but the deal doesnt.

So the options (note these are prices from 13th June 2009).

Pay & Go

There are three options on pay and go:

iPhone 3G 8GB – £342.50

iPhone 3G S 16GB – £440.40

iPhone 3G S 32GB – £538.30

Ummmm £540 seems abit steep, but after having the touch now for about a year and having used half of the space on my 16GB touch I’m abit nervous about getting only a 16GB iPhone!! I’ve not download TV series that I would like because of the worry about running out of space

So what about Pay Monthly

Pay Monthly Tariffs

So the cheaps is an 18 Month contract at £29.38 meaning that total cost for the time being 528.84 plus then another £274 for the iPhone! So a total cost of £802.84!!! Now there are upsides and downsides to both the pay and go and pay monthly options….

Its never easy is it!!

After the phone in schools blog post that I did I thought I would have a look back at my phone history and some of the shocking phones I’ve had.

Phillips C12

Philips C12

This was my first ever phone and I got it free as part of setting up a student bank account!!! Shows the signs of the times when I was a student that mobile phones were just taking off and were cheap enough to give away, but not every child had one.

Nokia 3210
I think this was my second phone it was so long ago I cannot

Nokia 3210

remember either that or there has been so many nokias with the same sounding name that I get confused. Snake was the key invention on this one and you could spend hours playing trying to beat your friends rather than doing uni work!!!

Not sure what my next one was but I dont think it was a nokia which was a bad mistake I found because the battery life sucked on it. I then switched back to the nokias which had a much better battery life.

HP 6915
My current one is a PDA which is great to have all of my calendars syncing with Thunderbird and google calendar and google contacts. Its running windows mobile which I’ve not really grown to like that much. I also thought I would use the keyboard that it has more but I hardly use it which means I lost screen size.

What next?
I’ve had the HP for quite a while now I think its almost 2 years might be more which is a long time for a phone. So I started to look what I might get next and I think there are two phones out there at the moment that are probably the best on the market.

The Apple iPhone or the HTC Touch Diamond 2 (or possible the HTC Magic which is HTC + Android!!!)
